Three years ago, I could not have dreamt of being a part of Jai Balaji School, Methi village, an area which I could not even locate on the map. A chance acquaintance with Mr. Nitin Takane opened the doorway to the most noble deed for mankind, the gift of education. I personally visited the School and was amazed to see the involvement and enthusiasm amongst both the teachers and children. I saw the teachers themselves prepare a nourishing meal for the children before the school starts and also witnessed the children relishing it without wasting a morsel.
I soon learned that, that was maybe the only meal they had in the day, such was the poverty. Jai Balaji School has ensured that every child is provided with books, uniform, shoes, stationery and bag, all for free. The children have access to safe drinking water through a RO plant installed in the school and recently are also getting daily a glass of milk , thanks to the efforts of Mr. Takane and his team and support of well-wishers.
During my visit I met a few students who had passed out from the school and were pursuing graduation in varied field like law, biochemistry and other allied science streams. Their pride and conviction in making something of their lives in an area where basic amenities were a privilege brought tears to my eyes. I wish Jai Balaji School and it's students a very bright future. God Bless!
