My first visit to Jai Balaji School was around 3 years ago. Meeting Mr. Takane was accidental or may be destiny. A casual chat with him got me interested in the School his father had set up and was now being managed by the son, Mr. Nitin Takane. We visited the school in December and the experience was a life changer for me. What bowled me over was the dedication of the teachers and the care takers towards the children.
The children too were determined to make something of their lives in the midst of abject poverty and dismal living conditions. It is a daunting task to arrange resources to educate 550 children completely free including arranging books, uniforms, stationery and bags for them. This challenge has been happily accepted by the team of Jai Balaji School. In fact, they have always been one step ahead in taking care of the children.
They were the first school to provide a nourishing meal to the children, long before the government thought of it. Last year they started providing filtered water to the children by installing an RO plant in their premises and this year onwards they have started providing a glass of fresh milk to the children on a daily basis.
They also arranged a medical camp and examination of all children last year. It has been a pleasure and honour for me to support this noble cause. I wish them all the best and pledge to be a part of their team.
